Tuesday's Tips

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

Last week, I talked a bit about freezer cooking! Today is a pretty easy going day other than needing to go shop to stock up on some stuff, and I'm hoping to get in a bit of baking and freezer cooking today and tomorrow!

I've already made pancakes today, and they're waiting to cool off before I throw them in the freezer for easy breakfasts later on!

I'm also hoping to make these Pumpkin muffins today (got some canned pumpkin to use up!) and cook up some meat after I go shopping!

Now, on to today's tips........

Clipping Coupons
I know many people just don't have time to spend searching for, clipping, and organizing coupons. Although I highly suggest it, it is still possible to save a LOT just by combining sales and printable coupons.
Often times, current online coupons are for the same items that are out in the newspaper inserts. Sometime the values are the same, but often they are higher. And many times there are online coupons for things that you can't find paper coupons for.
When you are looking at the sales for different stores each week, I'll note whether or not there are online coupons for items as I find out about them. You can simply print the list, print the coupons, cut just those out and head to the store. There's no filing of coupons, or cutting of coupons you may or may not need.

Here's an example of what you can currently get good deals on using online coupons....

Publix (these sales end today, if you're thinking of doing them!)

Trix Yoplait Yogurt 6 pk, 4 oz cup $1.40
$1.50 off one Yoplait Kid's Yogurt printable
Final Price = FREE plus $.10 overage
(there is a paper coupon too, but it only makes the yogurt $.69- still a good deal, but not as good as free!)

Coffee-mate Creamer 16oz $1.66
$1.50 off any Coffee-mate 15oz or larger printable
$1 off Coffee-Mate printable
Final Price= $.16-$.66

Walgreens

Fiber One Bars $1.99
$1.35/1 internet printable
Final Price = $0.64

Campbells Soups 3/$3 (with in ad coupon)
Use $1/2 internet printable coupon
Final Price = $0.50 (when you buy 2)

Get $7.99 in Register Rewards wyb Blink Tears Eye Drops 0.33-0.5 oz $7.99
Use $1.50/1 internet printable coupon
Final Price = FREE + $1.50 in overage after RR (register rewards are like cash to use next time in store)

That is just a taste of what you can get for free, or cheap with printable coupons! Most stores will accept them, some will even double them if they are lower values!

There are ways that companies keep track of how many coupons you print, to prevent fraud and prevent your ability to print out 100's of copies of the same coupon! The manufacturer would certainly lose money that way!

Most coupons can be printed twice. After you reach a "Thanks for printing our coupon" page, simply hit the back button a few times until you see the page that says "Click here to print your coupon" again. It will then print another, if more than one is allowed.

You may have to download an application the first time you print from a site. It is usually quick and easy! If by chance you have trouble, try changing your browser. Switch to using Firefox if you use IE or switch to IE if you usually use Firefox.

If you have more than one computer, print 2 from each!

So while with paper coupons, you can get many, many of the same coupons, there is still great value in using printable ones. It may not be as easy to stockpile, but you will be able to get lots of things you need for cheaper!

Here are some great places to find printable coupons

  • Coupons.com - they have a large list of name brand manufacturer coupons that you scroll through, click on them to "clip" then print just the ones you want. You can always get to these through my sidebar as well
  • Smartsource.com - this is the same company that puts out Smart Source coupons in the paper and runs very similar to coupons.com
  • Manufacturer's websites often have printable coupons
  • Hotcouponworld.com- has a fantastic database of nearly every coupon out there! Click "printable" in the source menu to see only that category

Don't forget other coupons you don't have to cut! If you have Kroger or one of their associated stores in your area you can add coupons direct to your card that you don't have to print, cut out, or anything after you've saved them!

  • Shortcuts.com
  • Cellfire.com
  • P & G e-saver
  • UPromise.com instead of coming off your order, "coupon" money is sent to your account (Make sure you link up ALL your store cards to Upromise! They work at most stores with loyalty cards, and certain brands earn you money in your account too!)

Here are some other great current online coupons that you might be interested in!
