Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

Another crazy week has made me a little lax on posting, and on shopping, but I have gotten in a few good deals!!! I plan to hit Publix a few more times before the sale cycle ends on Tues.

CVS-

Took advantage of all of the free school supply goodies, and the free photo book which I made for our first wedding anniversary coming up next Sunday...in fact, I'm getting ready to go make another book for my friend's 30th bday present- coming up later this week! Since I had plenty of ECB's, I spent under $1 tax included for everything!

Tomorrow starts a new 3 day sale with another bunch of free school stuff- don't miss out!

Publix-

I'm wayyyy too tired to list all of these out, but I was soooo proud of this shop and all of the overage I got from it! I would've repeated several of these deals already, but I had to leave town on short notice, so I'll get there again a few times before Tues, I hope!!
Everything in the back/right was stuff I needed, that wasn't necessarily on sale- soup, frozen veggies, fresh produce, and baked beans. If there isn't a good sale, I use overage to pay for store brand items (not always cheaper if there is a sale!!). The strawberries and blue berries were much more than last week, but I used a $2/$5 Food Lion coupon along with the overage to pay for it!
My total was around $4.50- a little over $1 before tax. I miscaluculated a bit because I had an extra bandaid coupon in my stack, so I threw in some more stuff to cover the amount the coupons would take off- otherwise I would've left an item out so my total before tax was as low as possible....still I shouldn't complain about it being a $1, right?! :o)
Visit I Love Publix to see her breakdown of deals- many of which are the same as mine!
Meijer-

This was my first Meijer "shop!" I was up in OH helping my bro out with a youth camping trip, and despite being exhausted and desparately ready to get home, I couldn't pass up a chance to use some coupons on their amazing clearance deals!

I've often stopped at Meijer to check out clearance, but I've never "grocery/coupon" shopped there!

I spent around $10 on all of this- not fantastic compared to my usual shops, but not bad either!

The Kraft dressing was a money maker- on sale for $1.50, used $1/1 coupons, and got back a $2 of your next order catalina!! And paid noooo tax! Yay, for no food tax in OH! :o)

I then took that $2 coupon and bought the strawberries -$.99 GREAT price!, Gold Star chili to take home (I stopped by the restaurant to eat my fave coney's too though- it is an addiction and a MUST when I'm in Northern KY or OH!) $1.99 on sale - cheaper than buying cans at the restaurant!, and some clearance candles, scrapbook stickers and the cute shell bowl which perfectly matches my house and was only $2.25!

It was a bit of a splurge because if I had truly been frugally shopping, I would've only gotten the salad dressing then 2 strawberries and a $.14 candle probably! However, I LOVE wandering around this store checking out all the clearance...believe me I could've done more damage, and several things when into my cart only to come back out later, since I'd promised myself I wouldn't spend more than $10!

Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

I'm a bit late on this, but it was a week worth sharing!! It was almost an ALL Publix week for me- finding sooo many things that gave overage! Most of that is thanks to a fellow Nashville blogger I just discovered- I Love Publix. She does an AMAZING job using overage and combinine competitor/store/manufacturer coupons to score GREAT deals, and I am LOVING her inspiration!

Trips #1-5 (last week's sale cycle)

This was my 5 trips to Publix for last week's sales combined! I made several little trips because I was usually just stopping in on my way running by, and also made one whole transaction just to use overage on a birthday card and gift bag I needed to buy ($2 for a gift bag is crazy, but not so bad when I can get it for free by using coupons on other items!
All of the items highlighted in green are things you can still get, so I marked the coupons!

6-Apple and Eve Juice (tiny boxes for $1.39)- FREE + overage (Still good using $.50/1 from Greenwise magazine and $1/1 in Summertime Savings Book!)
2-Cool Whip - $.25 each
2-Velveeta Shells- $.75 each
7- Dannon Danonino Yogurt- FREE (Still good using $1/1 in Summertime Savings Book!)
4-Glad Snack Bags- FREE + overage
9-Carfree Pantiliners - FREE + Overage (Still good using $3/3 in Green Advantage Buy flyer and $.50 ip or $1/1 I had from various magazines!)
1-Raid Wasp/Hornet- $.69 (others were free but I needed wasp kind for a nest on my porch!)
1-Raid Ant & Roach- FREE + (really barely enough overage to cover the tax!)
5- Tylenol Arthritis - FREE + Overage (Still good using $2/1 manufacturers coupon from 5/17 RP or 6/21 SS and $2/1 store coupon from Summertime Savings Book)
2- Breakstone's Sour Cream - $.75 each
4-Tortilla Chips/Penny Item -$.01
1-Hershey's Syrup= $.88
4-Bananas (rang up each separate to cover coupons!)- $.74
1-Publix soda- $.50
2-Corn- $.20 each
1-Zuccini- $.91
2-Baking Potatoes - $1.25
1-bread- $.89
1-Hot dog buns- $.99
1-Mushroom- $1.99
Not Pictured:

Coffee Filters (left them in car!) - $1.39
Birthday Card- $2
Gift Bag- $1.99
Total Spent- $11.50
$5.08 before taxes (dang those TN food taxes!)

You'll notice I got a lot of "little" amounts of produce, this is because I like to buy it using overage or throw in one or two to account for an item that has 2 coupons attached to it. You're allowed to use more coupons than items but it requires a manager override and I like to avoid that! I often bag and ring the items separately to count for more than one item!
Trip #6 for last week's sale cycle!

I actually needed pork and charcoal, so I decided to do the charcoal deal since it was still on sale at Publix! I know I didn't do as well as some with this deal, but we were grilling that night and having porkchops with in-laws the next so I figured I'd see how I could do! I probably should've done it along with items that gave more overage, but I'd already used up a lot of my coupons!
2 pks pork- $5.56- ends up being FREE + with $6 off pork wyb charcoal coupon
1- glad bags- FREE +
3- A-1 steak sauce - FREE + (these were only free at one Publix and cheap at the rest, I've noticed my Nipper's Corner store prices often less than other stores I visit!)
1- KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce- FREE (Free wyb Charcoal coupon)
1- Kingsford Charcoal- $3.99
1- Milk $2.25
1- Ball Park hot dog- $1

Total Spent- $8.04 ($2 of that was tax!)
Not my best, but not bad when we needed these things!
Trip#1- Current Publix Sales cycle
Everything you see in the back was stuff that we "needed." Everything in the front was free +, which I bought to pay for everything else! The only repeat deal here is they tylenol, which I discovered I had more coupons for!
ALL of these deals are still good through 7/14, the overage deals are good for awhile after still!
9- J&J first aid- FREE + (Used $1/1 manufacturer coupons and $3/3 Green Advantage Buy flyer- there are possibly some $3/2 mf coupons out there to make this a better deal!)
4-Tylenol Arthritis - FREE + Overage (Still good using $2/1 manufacturers coupon from 5/17 RP or 6/21 SS and $2/1 store coupon from Summertime Savings Book)

2- Muir Glen tomato sauce- FREE + (enough overage to cover tax!)
1- Knox gelatin - FREE + with $4 ip
Strawberries- $2.50
Blueberries- $1.67
Mushrooms $1.50
4- Cream of Chicken and Mushroom soups- $.65 each
Pancake Syrup- $2.39
Apples- $.95
Potato- $.68
Onion- $.83
Total Spent- $4.36

$.32 before taxes!! Wow, don't I wish we had no food tax (have to remind myself constantly we're lucky to not have state income tax!)
Without buying all of those things that gave overage, I would've spent much more on the things I needed. While those produce prices do seem steep for the small amount I got, it's worth it to buy small when there are just two of us!

Saturday Savings!

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*
Finally I'm back into the swing of things! I'm glad that grocery stores have been so great lately because I haven't even missed anything at the drugstores, really! I did it a few CVS stores this week trying to do a couple deals, and then hit Harris Teeter pretty hard this week for Super Doubles (still going on through Tuesday!)

Harris Teeter

Trip #1

My frist trip to HT cost me $6.09. Over $2 of that was tax (tax is higher this go-around because the original coupon amount being taxed is higher with $1/$1.50 coupons!), $2 was for the drink mixes, and $2 was for the cheese- which I made back by earning a $2 off your next order catalina.

Trip #2
This trip cost me $2.76. Just under $2 was for tax. I essentially got the milk free by using the $2 catalina from the previous trip, and the only thing I really "paid for" was the corn- great deal at 8/$2 or $.25 apiece!
I was pretty happy with my first 2 trips- everything I wanted was in stock! My only problems were finding the correct sale items because a LOT were not marked (and some still aren't!) so I had to look them up in the ads and check a few on Express Lane in between trips so I'd know which flavor/scent, etc. to buy!

Trip #3 and #4
This is trip #3 and #4 combined because I forgot to take a pic until trip #4! Missing is another Jimmy Dean meal and a can of Pringles, because they were eaten before I got around to taking a pic! I also bought some sour cream because we needed it and forgot it in the pic since I was just looking for triples items and forgot about it!
Total for these 2 trips combined= $4.06- other than the $1.50 for the sour cream, the rest is ALL tax since I got all free items!
HT TOTALS= $12.91
Wow!!! :o)

I'm pretty happy with that since I got a lot of stuff we needed, like milk, cheese, ice cream (yeah that's a need!!), and a lot of stockpile stuff I was running low on!

PUBLIX
My Publix trip is an example of buying things you don't really need, to get things you do need cheaper!
My in laws are in town, so we've been running through lots of coffee and creamer. I was out of coupons for creamer, and needed some more!
I was able to spend only $.65 tax and all on the above to get the creamer for much cheaper than buying it alone. The cereal was free, and everything else was a money maker- even if a small one, so they helped pay for the creamer!
KROGER
There were a few okay sales at Kroger this week, but nothing I really needed- except for strawberries! They were only $1.50 a package and were much higher at Harris Teeter and Publix this week! I also picked up some lemons and limes to make lemonade/limade just like I used to have in Honduras and Mexico! (Thanks to My Penny Pile for posting the link!)
I spent just at $10 on the above, which was a little steeper than I'd like to pay, but we are desperately craving fruit right now!
ALDI'S
No picture, but I spent around $25 this week at Aldi's this week trying to stock us back up on some fruits, veggies, chicken and shrimp! For the most part their prices are the lowest everyday price- although I did find the above things at Kroger cheaper!
CVS
No picture here either, but I got some great deals and Extra Care Bucks on free Therma Care wraps, and Soy Joy bars and used some of the ECB's from those to buy Folgers coffee which was also a great deal at $5.99 for a huge canister! I almost never keep coffee around because the hubby doesn't drink it, but we needed it with the in-laws in town for awhile, so I was happy to find it basically for free!

Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

I've been so busy with being out of town every weekend for awhile now, shopping with triple coupons, and surrounded by babies (brand new BFF's baby born today too!) that I've been slacking around the blog lately!
I haven't been shopping as much as usual but I do have some great deals to report!! Technically some of this was last weeks too but I was out of town and officially they were all from sales/triples still carrying over to this week!

Harris Teeter

I did really well the first two days! However there was only enough in stock to hit my 20 coupon limit per day on the first day!

Then the last day they were out of a lot, and I was also running a little lower on coupons! I threw in a couple small Walgreen's Register Rewards to help pay for the detergent, which was the only stuff that wasn't free out of all of the above! And it was only $1.24 a bottle! So I really paid nearly nothing but taxes on all of my triples runs!

Kroger

Triples were great again this time, although I may have like them better the last! Both of these pictures are from several trips each, and you can tell that the pickins were also getting slimmer on my last few Kroger trips! I still think Kroger is easier that HT's triples (since it's less widely known!), but many things were still out of stock towards the end! The only tricky part is some of the coupons weren't in their system and they had to manually enter them....turned out to often be a good thing (if they could figure it out, one trip I stood in line for almost 20 min because the girl was alone, it was late, self checkout was the only thing open and there were LOTS of customers including another woman with lots of coupons!) because they often gave overage!! Technically, the coupons only triple up to the price of an item to just give it to you free....I even tried to tell them on my first trip to make sure a certain coupon didn't give me more than it was supposed to....well, I walked out that trip paying $.10 for 20 things, tax and all! So no complaining here!

Just a few things like the french fries and hot pockets weren't free or nearly free, so with at least a $1 overage each time, I barely paid anything but tax (and sometimes less than tax!) on all of the trips! Oh and the Pepsi wasn't really even on sale, but the overage on deoderant ate some of that!

Publix

I had great intentions of getting to Publix more often than I did, but it just didn't happen with so much else going on! I did get a raincheck for the free plus overage dog food, so I'll try that again when its back in stock (they were still out as of Friday when it wasn't even on sale any more!)
I'm completely crazy about Publix overage, and their acceptance of competitor coupons! I feel like I'm really getting in a stride with shopping there, and usually get most of my "have to have" items without coupons there now. It's making me buy things I don't need- like the dog food, when I have no dog and mustard, which I have more than enough of! But when they give such great overage to pay for other things I need (like the veggies above!), and I can give those things away to those who need them....why not!!
Again, I barely spent anything but tax especially after throwing in a Walgreens RR in the last trip!
(any one else find a Publix that had mustard at $.99 and BOGO?? Each mustard made me $.50 instead of the reported $.30 overage!)

Target

I snagged all of this without paying a penny! I had a $5 gift card, and after two runs through Target, I still have over $1 left on it! I pretty much just paid taxes each time through! Go see how I got these deals here

HARRIS TEETER

While there were a few good things at HT (like the free gum, cheap ice cream topping and $.14 Ragu), I really went for another reason, and will be getting reimbursed, so I snagged several needs for all the grilling out we're doing this weekend in the mountains! The hot dog buns, and chips were a decent price w/o coupons and the burgers were highly discounted!

PUBLIX

I am most proud of Publix this week....missing from the pic is a 17 lb bag of charcoal and another purchase of ice cream, Cover girl, J&J gauze, dog treats, and butter. Along with that, I did 4 trips total, two of which I was able to use a $5/$25 from Walgreens (good only Wed and Thurs), and I used that to snag some needs, like the drinks, trash bags and laundry detergent, and also to cover what little was left in after coupon prices!

I got some amazing deals like $.49 ice cream, $.29 cheese singles, $.50 Brita filters, overage on the doggy treats and Johnson & Johnson items, great deal on free pork and bbq sauce for buying the $4 bag of charcoal!

See my Publix list here to snag some of these same great deals!

I spent right about $16 for all my Publix trips combined, for way over $100 worth of stuff! Everytime this week, my tax was MORE than my actual pre-tax total! Makes me hate TN state tax, BUT also shows you how well you can do with coupons!

I skipped out on CVS and Walgreens again--hoping they get some better deals soon! I did get a raincheck from CVS for the Dry Idea deoderant I couldn't find, so I'll get that when it's in stock again!

I didn't do too much shopping this week, but I did head to Publix and Food Lion to hop in on a few good deals! I have a few more things to get at both stores-mostly the same, before the sales restart on Wed. in both stores!

After a crazy couple of weeks with triples at Harris Teeter and Kroger, it was nice to slow things down a bit! Plus, it was a slow week at drugstores too! Other than getting some prescriptions at CVS (and using Rite Aid gift card coupons for 2 free $25 gift cards!!), that was about it!

Food Lion

Did you get any of the great Kraft BBQ coupons from coupons.com or Kraftfoods.com?? I bought 6 bottles at $.99 each, used 6 $1/1 coupons, and got them all for free! BUT the best part is, they are also producing catalinas (coupons printed at the register!) for $3 off your next order! Yippee! That makes these a $3 money maker! I also got the paper plates for free (The Chinet plates are 2/$4 and there are $2 coupons making them free), and the Jennie O Turkey sausage was marked down to $.50! I love getting meat that cheap, and Food Lion often has great markdown prices!

I also made another trip for 4 more packages of paper plates a few days later, and used the $3 on milk and ice cream sandwiches (the hubby just had to have them!), none of which made it in a picture!

Publix

I got 6 Glad Wraps for free (2/$2 all month and there are booklets out at Publix with $1/1 coupons!), and a Bic Lighter for $.74, free covergirl eyeshadows, cheap olive oil, banana to cover coupons, and 2 packages of Yoplait which never made it into the picture that I got $.25 overage on each! See my Publix deals here.

Pretty good for a week when I didn't even work that hard!

Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

I made so many different trips shopping this week that I was pretty bad about taking pics...so I'm just going to talk about my favorite ones!!

This is from last Saturday, but from after I wrote my Saturday Savings post!

TARGET

Target has been running some awesome gift card deals lately! This one was buy 5 Kellogg's Special K crackers or cereals, get a $5 gift card! Since there were a bunch of amazing Kellogg's coupons that came out that week, I snagged a LOT with coupons from my mom and my 2 computers! (There are actually 4 boxes missing from this pic that I gave away!)

My husband DEVOURS cereal and has been trading sandwiches for tuna and crackers lately, so this was an awesome deal for me!! I started with a $5 gift card from another deal, spent about $2.75 each time I did the deal, and ended up with a $5 gift card in the end! So I spent about $.30 a box on these! That's definitely my target for cereal, since it's often something that's hard to get for free!

CVS

I ran into a good friend at CVS while there to buy papers on Sunday (they're $1!!) and waited to get them until I could snag some deals she told me about, since I hadn't even looked at CVS lists yet!

Since I don't have a pic, I'll just list my transaction-- because I'm so darn proud of it!! :o)

Bought- one Adidas deoderant
6 Vitamin Water 10
3 12 packs of coke
Used $1/1 Adidas
Used 3 $1/1 VW10
Used $15 in ECB's from last week's Scotch and Visine deals
Paid $1.70 oop and earned $10 and $3 in ECB's

Bought 2 Adidas deoderants (limit was 3)
2 colgate toothpastes
3 newspapers
Used 2 $1/1 colgate
Used 2 $1/1 Adidas
Use $13 ECB's from first transaction
Paid $.05 oop!! Earned $6 and $4 ECBs!

Even though I walked out with 5 less ECB's than I'd started with, I still think I made out amazingly, got some stuff I needed AND free newspapers!

I then took many of those coupons I got in the free newspapers to Harris Teeter and Kroger, which were both still tripling this week! (HT until Tues and Kroger's last day is today!)

Go see my last week's Savings post to see all the amazing things I got! I basically just picked up more of the same this week!

HARRIS TEETER

Sadly, this was the only HT pic I took!

I purchased all of this on Tues, part for our Cinco de Mayo dinner and part just because it was the last day of the Triples sale, although not even all of this was triples deals!

I spent $1.79 on all of this! The torilla chips had $2 off beef wyb 2 chips (which I also had coupons for and that made the discounted steak free too!), the rice and sour cream were free with triples, the chips were $1 each after coupon, then a $5 Walgreens Register Reward paid for the discounted ribs, jalepenos, tortillas and part of the chips! Love when I get things without coupons for such a great deal!

I'm a bit shopped out and my coupons need an overhaul after all the new sets I got to tackle triples this week! But my pantry sure is full!

Saturday Savings

oops, this posted in the middle of me writing...sorry if you saw it unfinished!

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

Today I have a TRUE example of how much shopping with coupons REALLY CAN SAVE YOU!!!

It's slightly extreeme becauase I ran across something WOONNDERFUL this week, but it shows the possibilities coupons bring!

Let's say you go to the grocery store with under $5 to spend....Not a lot of money, right? You probably won't get very much!

Without coupons, you can get this.......

A Kroger this week, Flipz Pretzels are 2/$3,, you could get the two pictured above, just by shopping a sale. If tax isn't too high, maybe you can squeeze in one more and come under the $5 you have to spend. Doesn't sound too bad, does it??

But with coupons it gets better.......

You could take that same $5 to Kroger and get all this.........For less than $3!!! What?? Yes, less than $3, and that is WITH 5 bags of Flipz priced at 2/$3! How did it happen?? Coupons!! (oh and not pictured are 3 tubes of toothpaste I got right away when I discovered the triples, which I got for $.21, which was all tax! Still kept me at under $3!)

I'm actually still in slight shock that I did so well! I've done amazing things before with coupons, but this has to be the best!!

A couple days ago, I walked into Kroger only to buy one thing....and saw a sign for TRIPLE COUPONS!! What??? My Harris Teeter store triples often as you know if you regularly shop there or read about it here. But Kroger?? I've heard some Kroger's around the country triple small coupons and double larger ones than mine does. Mine only doubles up to $.50 and that's it! No triples, nothing bigger. So I thought maybe I was in the wrong store and went straight to customer service to ask!!

Turns out, several Kroger's in the area decided to triple up to $.99 in competition with Harris Teeter! Kroger's regular prices are cheaper than HT's regular prices, so that, with a few sales at Kroger, made for INCREDIBLE savings!!!! Most of that less than $3 was tax because I paid for very few items and even earned a $1 off your next order coupon by buying the small cans of pineapple!! I purchased the above 60 items in 3 transactions at different times. The limits are- only the first 20 per transaction triple (I don't know if that means you can divide transactions up or not, I didn't try!) and only manufacturer's coupons triple up to $.99 with no overage. Pretty simple terms. I have a feeling if they start doing this regularly there will be more terms!

Yippppeeeeee!!!

If you live in Nashville, and are near a Kroger that's by a Harris Teeter, call and find out if they are tripling! I know for sure the ones at Edmonson/Nolensville and the one on Franklin Road right by HT are doing it! Supposedly 5 more are but they didn't know which ones! The promotion goes through MAY 9th!!! So there's a whole other week if you missed out! I may have that list posted in my Sunday savings if possible!

I also did pretty well at HT this week, at the beginning of their triples, spending about $5 on about 40 things, including ice cream, rice, toothpaste, deoderant, gum, waffles, and more, but I forgot to take pictures of that!

Walgreens and Target have also had some sweet deals that I've taken advantage of and plan to do more of today! I will try to post those later!!

Happy Shopping!

Since I have been out of town, there isn't much for me to report today! I did get in a little Publix shopping while in SC, and LOVED the no food tax!! I spent a total of $.80 on 2 cake mixes, brownie mix, 5 cans of diced tomatoes, and 3 bottles of salad dressing!! That definitely gave me my fix for the week!

I also used up a few Extra Care Bucks at CVS to buy some baby shower supplies! Gotta love spending no money OOP on stuff like that!!

I'm taking another week long break from shopping to save some money and use up things we have, but I will be back to post some deals on Monday! Publix will be starting a new sale week, as will many other stores tomorrow! I'm going to be spending time with family all day tomorrow (as I hope all of you will too!), so things will have to wait!

Have a wonderful Easter weekend!!!

Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

WHEW! I've had quite the week of shopping with coupons- mostly due to Harris Teeter Triples (still going on until Tues, and I've noticed they've been restocking throughout!) What a bad week to have lots of coupons to cut and sort! I'm usually more prepared when triples roll around, but just no time to do it beforehand this go-around! I still came out pretty well, I think!

Here's my savings for the week!
See my matchups and prices in this week's Sunday and Wednesday Shopping lists!

HARRIS TEETER

Trip #1

I kinda goofed a little and used an insert coupon on No Yolks noodles which said "Do Not Double." I'm smart enough to know to ask to take that item off, but I didn't and only got face value! It's not in the pic because I planned to take it back but after so many other free things, I thoguht it couldn't kill me to pay $1.25 for some noodles!

Total Spent= $5.18
Total Saved= $28.09

Trip #2

This time used the right coupons for No Yolks! The internet coupons WILL triple!

Total Spent= $.95
Total Saved= $13.66

Trip #3

Buying Post cereal currently gives you $$ back off your next order! I got $2 back when I bought 3 Honeycombs, which were only $.35 a piece anyways after coupon so I made $.95 on these! I also used a $4 RR from Walgreens which helped make my total so low! That took care of the $.80 per cheese and the jelly!

Total Spent= $.79
Total Saved= $48.57 (wow!)

Trip #4

This time I spent more than my other trips combined but I needed veggies and took advantage of 2 deals going on: $4 off immediately when you buy 10 GM products (Green Giant, Pillsbury, and more), and when you buy 3 Kellogg's cereals you get a coupon for free milk your next order! I went right back in for my milk and some bread, so this is the 2 orders combined.

Total Spent= $10.58
Total Saved= $51.34

Harris Teeter Triples Totals so far:

Total Spent all trips= $17.50
Total Saved= $141.66

PUBLIX

I went to Publix several time for free eyeshadow, toothpaste, and baby food, since those coupons are expiring soon! Other than the tea (last week's sale for $.64), everything else was stuff I just threw in to cover the extra coupons from the makeup and toothpaste, and the overage on the baby food! A couple of bananas and a bag of frozen peas are gone because they were eaten by the time I got around to pictures!

Total Spent= $11.19
Total Savings= $38.57

FOOD LION

I swung by Food Lion looking for some coupons to use at Harris Teeter (which I didn't find!) but I did score some great deals on discounted ground beef and pork chops! I was pretty happy that I made up 10 different portions for 10 different meals from all this meat! I froze it all except a meatloaf I made for dinner tonight, and the rest is in the freezer already made up as hamburgers, meatloaf, and individual dinner portions. Easy to make 10 meals when there's only my husband and myself to feed!

Total Spent= $5.29
Total Saved= $19.62 (original price of meat)

CVS

This took a few trips because I kept forgetting to grab my coupons! The soup was about $.70 for 2 cans after coupons, which I thought was a decent deal especially since I had ECB's to use to pay for them! I also have been wanting to get some hair color and found some on clearance which I just used ECB's to pay for.

Total Spent =$.63 (all my totals were under $1, and once I paid cash even though I had a gift card I used on the rest- I also wanted to get rid of some change I was carrying around!
Total saved= $36.78 (yipes! I never would've really paid that much for this stuff! Drugstores are expensive unless you snag deals like this!)

WALGREENS

No picture, because I didn't really get anything exciting and made several separate little trips looking for clearance Bic Soliel razors.

Used up a RR to buy Huggies wipes, bread, and Gillette Gamer Razor (which earned me $4 RR that I used at Harris Teeter)

Also bought 3 Bic razor refills on clearance for $3.59 which I got for free after a Walgreens coupon and a manuf coupon. And 2 small lip glosses on clearance I threw in to take care of overave with the Bic coupons

Total Spent= $2.93
Total Saved= $38.79

KROGER

I earned a $25 Rx gift card, which I used to buy several things that weren't really on sale, but we needed, like lunch meat, block cheese, chicken breast, butter, etc.

Total spent= Under $2 (after using up the gift card)
Total saved= $27 (only used 2 coupons since the rest was all need stuff!)

TOTAL SPENT THIS WEEK=$39.54
TOTAL SAVED THIS WEEK= $302.42

Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

Here's my savings for the week!

See my matchups and prices in this week's Sunday and Wednesday Shopping lists!

PUBLIX

This trip was on Tuesday before the sales switched over! The rice was $.74 each and the sauce was $.49. I was running low on both, and this is one of the best prices I've seen on rice in awhile! I probably should've gotten more! I just started using Food Lion coupons for Gerber baby food to get it free plus $.21, and the Cover Girl eyeshadow has been free all month!

Total Spent: 3.56
Total Saved:$14.95

This is two trips combined from the current sales! The toothpaste, eyeshadow, cereal and babyfood were all free! Most of the produce I threw in to cover the extra coupons I had (read my note about that in this week's current Publix deals!), and I needed the mushrooms and peppers for dinner that night anyways!

Total Spent= $6.44
Total Saved= $28.92

CVS

I loooooove CVS and was happy to have reason to go a few times this week! I might even squeeze in one more trip today since I can get one more of the Dry Idea deoderants ($1 money makers!) I threw in a "Reinventing Beauty" mag because I needed $1 more to use up some ECB's and it has lots of great coupons! I also didn't realize that the solid deo was about $.50 less and it threw me off trying to use ECB's so I had to throw in a couple caramels they always have at the register!

I also got the month long free after ECB Vitamin D, but gave it to a friend I'm teaching to shop with coupons, so I earned $3 ECB's for that too!

Total spent= $0 (about $1.50 on a gift card between 2 trips to pay off the leftover tax)
Total saved= $27.65
ECB's earned= $13.00

HARRIS TEETER

Apparently, I forgot to take pictures!

I needed some veggies and fruits so I took a Walgreens $10 RR (notice I didn't spend anything at Walgreens this week? They were out of what I wanted at the few I stopped in at!), and used the RR at Harris Teeter to buy oranges, strawberries, onions, potatoes, lettuce, and chili powder. All of which were on sale for a price I would've paid anyways!

I went before I'd had a chance to look at sales, so I went back for a few free things- Wacky Mac Pasta and Dawn Dish soap. I also threw in a candy bar because everything I bought was free and I didn't want to look like I wasn't paying for anything! :o) Ok, I'll admit, I wanted the candy bar too!

Total Spent both trips= $3.88
Total Saved= $21.34

WALMART

Again, no picture! But I did go in last night to look for some of the free after coupon stuff! Most of it is usually pretty elusive for me, as it seems my store's prices are always different. Does anyone else think it's odd that Walmart price matches...yet, so many of their stores have different prices?? Do they price match themselves? I've even discussed it with an employee once when I was buying strawberries for under $2, when I'd just come from a store where they were over $4!! She said that they can charge whatever they want if they think they can get the price in that area! Also there was a woman in line in front of me, who works at a different Wal-mart, but came to that one beacause she heard that the groceries were a little cheaper!! Crazy!

Sorry for diverting........all that to say I only found ONE thing that was free after coupon- Schick razors for $1.97 and I had a $2 coupon. I also grabbed some milk and some discounted bread and an All You magazine (which has TONS of great coupons!

Total Spent= $6.?? (can't find my receipt!)
Total Saved=$2.40 (plus lots of future savings with the coupons I got in All You)

KROGER

No picture, because it was just meat, but I hopped in one night to grab some steak and found 2 pkgs of discounted angus steak for $5.65 for both! I also randomly found a meat rebate, so I'll get back $5 on the meat! Sweeeeeet!

Total spent= $.65 (after rebate!)
Total saved=$5

Total spent this week= $20.54
Total saved= $66.39 (not counting $13 back in ECB's!)

Wow, I wondered how I'd made it through the week after only adding in $10 to my cash this week from money I got in the mail for rebates! That's how! I only spent $20!

Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

I spent a good amount of my budget on diapers this week, but I earned lots back to spend later! I also had a GREAT week at Kroger and hope the savings continues since the Mega Event is carrying over to next week!

See my Sunday and Wednesday Shopping Lists to see how I got this stuff for so cheap!
WALGREENS

I repeated the diaper deal, 3 times this week, for 3 different families with babies! So, multiply the diapers you see here by 3 for a total of 9 packages! I also took advantage of the shaving cream for $1.99 with $1 RR back! Each time I got diapers, I also earned $10 RR!! But gave one to my mom since she gave me the cash to buy that set of diapers!

Total Spent= $37.23 (whew diapers are expensive and that's after coupons! Should I start saving now?? :o) )
Total Value= $94!!
Total Register Rewards earned= $21
Total Rebates Earned= $8.25
Total out of pocket= $7.98 for 9 jumbo packs of diapers and 2 shaving creams!!

KROGER

Trip #1

Got some fish on markdown for just over $1, and some money maker Pillsbury biscuits. The other 10 items were part of the buy 10 get $5 off your order, most of which were free or cheap after the discount! I used free pasta when you buy Armour meatball coupons to get the pasta that was included in the deal for extra, extra savings!

Total Spent=$5.51 ($3.97 before tax!)
Total Value= over $30

Trip #2

Did another Mega Event deal- buy 10 save $5. and hardly spent anything at all! I also used the $1.50 off your next order catalina that I earned last time from buying the Pillsbury biscuits. The tortillas were on manager's discount for $.99, which we just ate! Unless you are freezing manager's discount food items, you'll want to eat them quickly! They are marked down because they are expiring soon! Also bought some huggies wipes to go with all those diapers, and they were a $.50 money maker after coupon!

Total spent= $3.08 (half of that was tax!!)
Total saved=$30

PUBLIX

I ran into Publix once on Tues. before the sales switched over to get some Egg Beaters for $.67 each with the printible coupons I had and the 3/$5 sale! Great price, especially since I spent $2 on one Publix brand one the week before! They were low on all kinds except these two, and I didn't realize that I got Southwest style ones! So I'll be exchanging one when I head in tomorrow to check out the penny item and this weeks current sales!

Total Spent= $3.19
Total Value= $12

Total Spent this week=$19.76 (including the $21 in RR!)
Total Value=$166

Saturday Savings!

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

I had a pretty good week! It had been awhile since I'd stocked up on meat, so I scored a few good deals on that, and I went crazy at Walgreens with the Register Rewards deals! Good thing because I'm hittin it hard again starting tomorrow with a great Huggies deal at Walgreens. (I don't need diapers for my fam yet, but have a nephew and lots of friends who do!)
See my Sunday and Wednesday Shopping Lists to see how I got this stuff for so cheap!

CVS

I only hit up CVS once this week since even with new ECB deals, nothing really was enticing me! I had to go on Sunday night when I realized I had $9 in ECB's expiring that day, and I scored some good Valentine's clearance, and one free after ECB item. I got 6 girlie makeup/nail kits that I'll use as gifts for my nieces and girls I babysit for. They were 90% off and don't look too Valentiney! Girl stuff is always pink and hearts anyways! These cost $.50, $.99, and $1.29! Can't beat that for 6 gifts! :o) And the Nestle was $5 so I spent just a few cents over $9 and that went on a GC!
So out of pocket, I spent= $0
and came out with $5 in ECB!
Total Value= $48!!!!
FOOD LION

I'm not a regular Food Lion shopper, but I saw they had free gum and a couple other things which I didn't find, but did score great on some discounted meat. And got the Hormel Apple Bourbon Pork Chops for aobut $1 after coupon! It was really good too, even though it only had 3 chops, but that was enough for 3 of us to eat along with a few sides!
Total OOP= $7.19
Saved= $8.75
not too bad since I really needed the meat!
PUBLIX

I shopped twice at Publix before their sale ended last Tues, so none of these are on the current sales list! I'm trying to do my shoppin on Sun/Mon since they have mystery penny items that day! This week it was toilet paper, but by the time I went on Monday they may have run out so it was Pasta Roni or Powdered sugar. The Pop Tarts were BOGO and had peelies so they were $.19 each! The pasta sauce was BOGO, but was still a splurge because the hubby was cravin alfredo! The yougurt was free or I prob wouldn't have bought that kind! I'm not really a fan, but the hubby has almost eaten it all already!

Total Spent=$6.20
Total Savings= $22.12

WALGREENS

This involved MANY different trips and rolling Register Rewards. One of the keyes to success at Walgreens is using your RR to buy more things that produce RR. When you throw in manufacturer coupons you can often MAKE money! I also got 8 bars of soap in another purchase that didn't make it in the picture! I could've scored LOTS more but each time cost me a little out of pocket in tax, so I just did it enough until I got some RR to last me for next week!
Total spent= $12.67 and $10 RR left over and $2.99 back in rebates so actual OOP for the week= -$.32!! Whoooopeee!
Total Savings= $62.10 (geez! no way I'd every pay that much for all that! see how little things add up??)
KROGER

I love using the UScan at Kroger because that way I can do multiple transactions and carefully watch to make sure all my coupons are coming off!! This doesn't look like a lot of stuff, but to get the best value, I did 3 transactions!

  1. Bought 3 biscuits for $1.18 after coupon, earned $1.50 off your next order!
  2. Bought 4 Raisn bran for 2.29 each, register spit out $1.50/2 coupon as soon as I scanned the first one, which was better than the $1/2 I had, so I used one of each, and the $1.50 off from the last transaction= spent $5.87, earned $4.00 off your next order!
  3. Bought discounted milk, ribs, and bread, used $4 off your next order from above= spent $1.15

So all of that cost $8.20!
Saved $10.75

I'd normally spend less on cereal, but we were completely out and the hubby loves rasin bran! I didn't really need the biscuits but you can see how it helped save a few cents on the cereal, and the cereal helped me get the milk, bread and meat (harder to get cheap items!) for practically nothing!

Total spent this week $45.01 and earned $18 back in rewards and rebates!
$27.01 spent for the week!
$151.72 SAVED!!

I spent less all week than I would have, had I bought everything full price at the first store!! And this was a pretty high out of pocket week for me!

See how others did by visiting Super Savings Saturday at MoneySavingMom.com!

Saturday Savings

*If this is your first time visiting my blog, go here first to learn how it works!*

This week was pretty slow for me, with starting off the week still sick and then ending back at full speed when I got better! My favorite fam that I babysit for had twins this week, so between watching their other 5, substituting at my old school, babysitting for another family, and now staying the weekend with my Grams while my parents are out of town, there wasn't much time left for shopping!

See my Sunday and Wednesday Lists to see how I got this stuff so cheap!

Sunday, the hubs and I headed to Kroger, picked up some free tuna, discounted yogurt, stocked up a bit on tissues since I was going through about a box a day for a week (I definitely destroyed that stockpile!) I also got some Puffs with Vicks to save my poor nose, and I was happily surprised to get a $.25 e-coupon discount! Had no idea I'd saved that one!

I love Kroger's "Manager's Specials." They often put them on soon to expire items, so use them up quickly, like with the yogurt, or freeze them, like I often do with discounted meat.

Total spent= $7.72
(believe it or not, that's much more than I usually spend there!)

On Tues, before things got crazy, I headed out for a few things from Aldi, Walgreens, and CVS. I love going to Aldi for shrimp and fresh produce, when I can't find good deals elsewhere!

  • Aldi - broccoli ($.99!) lettuce, carrots, shrimp, Italian sausage (something I never buy, but the huuby begged for!), and spaghetti
    Total Spent= approx $13

  • CVS- Renuzit, Stayfree (both free after ECB!) and paper towels
Total Spent= $0 used ECB and gift card for few cents left over after using $6 ECB, $6 ECB earned

  • Walgreens- 2 Reynolds wrap and valentine candy (to cover the reynolds overage!)
    Total Spent= $.21

I'm hoping to squeeze in a few more deals today before the sales change, but most of them will probably come around again so I'm not going to stress if I don't!

*Update*

I did make it to Walgreens today to sneak in a few more free Reynold's Wrap!

I got 2 more Reynolds, and Ultra Swim Shampoo and Gillette after shave, each on clearance for $1! I had a printable coupon for $1 off Ultra Swim, so that was free! I possibly have a coupon for the Gillete but I didn't have one one me and I needed something to cover an extra coupon from the Reynolds-

Total Spent this trip= $1.13 including tax!
